Price Protection Service (PPS) provides a fixed natural gas commodity price to enrolled customers, for a one year period. No matter how much the natural gas market fluctuates, your pre-agreed price stays the same.

Monthly gas bills consist of two major components: delivery and supply charges.

The cost of delivering natural gas to your home remains relatively stable and is priced per unit, or hundred cubic feet (ccf).

The supply charge is the price per ccf that Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania pays for natural gas on behalf of its customers. This price varies over time because it is impacted by factors such as weather, gas production levels, the economy, etc.

Taking the future into your own hands with PPS

As a PPS customer you pay a set price per ccf for the natural gas commodity charge on your bill.

While your usage may vary from month to month, the rate per unit for the gas commodity stays the same for 12 months.

Your PPS supply price does not include other charges, such as distribution, monthly customer charges, or taxes, which are shown separately on your bill.
